How to Pack a Bathroom

After you pack large areas like the bedrooms or the kitchen, you might welcome the chance to pack a small space like the bathroom. However, packing a bathroom is not as simple as cramming everything you can into a few boxes and throwing on labels.  Packing a bathroom can be broken down into three principles; sorting, purging and organizing.

When sorting your bathroom, sort your items into categories, such as hair accessories, shampoos, cleaning supplies, linens and medications, etc.  Once everything is sorted, you can begin the purging phase.  During this time, throw away any empty bottles of shampoo, expired cosmetics or medications and any ratty linens that you do not need.

After sorting your bathroom, you should have a minimum amount to pack. Make sure to set aside daily essentials and medicines for the days following the move and keep liquids in leak-proof containers.

  1. Set aside essentials for day of your move.
  2. Store medicine and first aid supplies in a small plastic box to keep nearby.
  3. Pack your linens. Bath towels and washcloths can be folded and put into sturdy plastic bags.
  4. Pack toiletries in small boxes. If you are worried about anything leaking, use small plastic bags.
  5. Pack the top of boxes with lighter items like towels, rugs, or shower curtains.
  6. Glass and porcelain accessories should be packed according to our guide to packing fragile items.
  7. Brushes, hair accessories, and makeup should be packed in small toiletry bags or plastic boxes.

By following these helpful tips, you can make packing your bathroom a breeze.  Strongman Movers, LLC offers full packing services if you decide to leave the job to the professionals.
